Checklist for when a crane does not operate.
Truck with a manual transmission (PTO lever type): While keeping the clutch pedal depressed, pull the PTO lever all the way, and then release the clutch pedal slowly.
Truck with a manual transmission (PTO switch type): While keeping the clutch pedal depressed, turn the PTO switch on, and then release the clutch pedal slowly.
Truck with an automatic transmission: Move the gear selector to P or N and then turn the PTO switch on again.
Move the control levers (and the radio control switches) to the neutral position, engage the PTO again, and then wait for at least three seconds before operating the crane.
It takes approximately three seconds for the system to start up. While not operating the crane, engage the PTO again, and then wait for at least three seconds before operating the crane.
Release the emergency button and try operating the crane. (There is an emergency button on each side of a crane; please check them both.)
Without operating the radio control switches or levers, try turning on the radio control system (engage the PTO).
Try replacing the batteries.
Check if the control levers on the crane (and the radio control switches) are in the neutral position, then restart the engine, and then wait for at least two seconds before operating the crane.
It takes approximately two seconds for the system to start up. Restart the engine and then wait for at least two seconds before operating the crane.
Release the emergency button and try operating the crane.
Without operating the radio control switches or levers, try turning on the radio control system (the engine) again.
Try replacing the batteries.
