Maintenance for
Truck-mounted Cranes

Neglecting proper maintenance may cause unexpected accidents.
To operate cranes safely, please inspect and maintain crane parts on a daily basis.

Greasing

A lack of lubrication may lead to abnormal noise or cause structural damage to components.

Proper greasing results in less friction between sliding parts and leads to them lasting longer.
Be sure to grease parts appropriately.

  2. Boom foot pin
  3. Derrick cylinder support pin
  4. Winch drum gear
  5. Slewing gear, bearing
  6. Propeller shaft
  7. Wire rope

Oiling

Bad oil may lead to the crane malfunctioning and hydraulic component failure.

Air that enters the oil tank carries in dust and moisture. Over time, hydraulic components generate small amounts of wear debris during operation. For these reasons, it is strongly recommended to regularly replace hydraulic and gear oils.

Wire rope inspection

Wire ropes should be considered consumables. Replace them if any of the following descriptions match their conditions.

Wire rope with 10% or more of the wire cut in one twisting pitch.

Retightening

Is there any looseness?

Regularly inspect crane parts jointed with screws and bolts and tighten them as needed. With some parts, failure to do so may lead to the crane falling or other very hazardous accidents.

Consumables

They require frequent checks.

Replacing cylinder gaskets and seals
Replace cylinder gaskets and seals every three years after starting to use the product. Replacement periods may vary depending on the frequency of use.

Replacing the return filter

The return filter should be replaced three months after first use, then once every year. Replacement periods may vary depending on the frequency of use.

Replacing the suction filter

Clean the suction filter when replacing hydraulic oil. Replace it whenever the filter gets clogged.

Replacing line filter elements

Replace the line filter elements once a year after first using the product. When replacing the hydraulic pump, the line filter elements should also be replaced at the same time, then once a year after. Replacement periods may vary depending on the frequency of use.

Radio control transmitters

Radio control transmitters are delicate devices. Handle them with great care.

If the transmitter or rubber parts are deformed or cracked, water may enter inside and damage electrical circuits, resulting in a possible malfunction.
If a switch or the speed lever does not move smoothly, the crane may move when the operator did not intend it to, which may lead to dangerous accidents.
